Heirs Withdrawal
Oh, my intro to Korean Dramas – Heirs – is over and I’m already having withdrawals. Of course I’m going to watch all twenty episodes again just to season my eyeballs with the eye candy once more. I don’t want to spoil it for anyone that hasn’t had the opportunity to watch this show till the ending but I wish they’d developed a few more of the characters. They spent so much time on Kim Tan (played by Lee Min Ho) and Cha Eun Sang’s (played by Park Shin Hye) tug of war romance, that I felt rushed when it came to some of the other character’s romances – or lack there of.
I wish they’d developed the possibility of Rachel Yoo (played by Kim Ji Won) and Lee Ho Shyin (played by Kang Ha Neul). They teased us and then left us hanging in a dream (that was code, when you watch it you’ll know what I mean).
I hated Kim Won’s (played by Choi Jin Hyuk) relationship ending – I won’t say more, don’t want to spoil it. I will say more when some time passes, but for now I’ll leave it at that. Here’s another code for Won – I would think an older brother can learn from the baby brother!
I’m happy about Kim Tan and Eun Sang’s ending. I must admit there were times I was just downright mad at Eun Sang for not just going with the flow and trusting that Tan would work it out, she always wanted to fix everything without telling Tan…what’s up with that? But then again it would have made things so much easier and probably a lot more boring so I understand why the writers developed their relationship at that pace. I think they need a series 2, and please – not with different actors. The actors are what made the show, and I just can’t imagine any other group competing with the original cast.
If there is a season 2 with the same cast, they need to give Young Do (played by Kim Woo Bin) another girl to terrorize. Nobody terrorizes a classmate like Young Do! Season 2 could also wrap up the drama that is Daddy Kim (or “Chairman”) and his wife and mistress, with a little splash of Daddy Kim’s evil. Can you imagine that divorce playing out? Oh the drama! They can probably put a twist on Kim Tan and Kim Won fighting over the company with Step-Mama Kim – let’s say Tan changed his mind and now wants to take over the company. Besides that would give Won more screen time, and my eyeballs would love that!
I think a season 2 of Heirs would be the only medicine to get over the Hiers withdrawal symptoms. Fighting!
